Suppose you forgot to put your cell phone on vibration before going to the meeting, and suddenly a disco ring tone bangs in the conference room. Or the smell of the sandwich annoys your co-workers. Similarly you constantly gaze the screen of your monitor, while your colleague shares with you his/her personal problems. Apparently these things may seem minor, but they do affect your relationships with your officials. These can create deep resentments with your co-workers. However below are a few things that may annoy your co-workers even if you don’t do them intentionally.

Excessive use of PDA’s (personal digital assistant)

One of the co-authors of The Cost of Bad Behavior, says that the new gadgets introduced are one of the major reasons behind bad relations among the co-workers. Many workers are found texting and emailing during the meetings which becomes very annoying for the rest of the members and sometimes seems very offensive too.

Food and Smell

Your co-workers would definitely mind if you are filling up the whole office with the smell of what you are taking in lunch. No one will have any objection with any thing you eat unless its scent is spread in the whole atmosphere.

Meetings in the Hallway

You might be interested to ask any thing significant about the last week’s session or meeting, but remember corridor or the hallway is not the suitable place to ask. You should be aware of the factor that your other colleagues are working too, and might not be interested to hear about your conversation and might be disturbed.

Text words

Never ever think that your client will LOL if you write CUL8R (see you later). One the CEO of Place Trade received a cover letter, which was 50% written in text shorthand. This imparts the image of an ill-mannered person, who actually has no interest in getting the job, and is applying just or fun.

Main thing to be kept in mind is that people fail to observe their behaviors from others peoples point of view. The one who easily tries to lower down the volume of his co-workers doesn’t realize that his own voice is reaching the third department. Also when a colleague stands by you and throws a query becomes irritating and you have to start your work from the beginning.

It’s always better to start viewing your actions from others perspective in order to ensure that you are not unintentionally driving away your co-workers distractions. Try to behave professional and choose the ways that builds relationships a stronger one.
